RECEIPTS
Follow-through for school boards
districtreceipts.netlify.app · An independent project founded by Ethan Bell
Board decisions come with goals: savings, completion dates, reserve levels. Receipts follows each money decision from the vote to the year-end report, quotes the goal in the district's own words, and shares how it turned out with a link to every public document.

What a district gets
- A page for every money decision with a measurable goal
- A printable "Goals and results" summary each school year
- A list of small report changes that would show more results
- Board meeting coverage, briefs before votes, and open data
- A built-in way to respond, in the district's own words
What it asks of staff
- A short kickoff conversation
- Reviewing each new result during a 10-business-day preview
- Answering an occasional data-gap question
- No software, logins, hosting, or data uploads
Independent and careful
- Only public documents; every quote links to its page
- Written rules decide each result; no one can buy, edit, or veto a stamp
- No student data, ever
- Checked with automated accessibility tests (WCAG 2.1 AA) on phones and computers
Getting started
Receipts doesn't charge districts. Coverage of the Huntington Beach City School District is free, and coverage for other districts is coming later. Any district can start today with the free four-line agenda template at districtreceipts.netlify.app/districts/agenda-template.
